The wedding is just outside Bangor, so we’ll spend at least one day in Acadia. Our family has a camp just outside Baxter State Park, so we’ll probably hike the Knife’s Edge too. We were in Maine three years ago for another wedding and fell in love with both Acadia and Baxter. I’m also ridiculously excited to stop at the outlets in Freeport on the drive in from Portland. Patagonia, The North Face, and Horny Toad right next to each other. A little slice of heaven!

Um. You’re forgetting LL Bean! 🙂

Acadia is amazing. We tend to skip Baxter because dogs aren’t allowed (and we have 3).

          Have fun!

Perfect Wordless Wednesday. I am so excited to get my kid back on rides. She was just starting last summer but she was still a bit too short for many rides. Here’s hoping that growth spurt kicked in enough.

As hot as it is here, it’s almost impossible to imagine it being cool enough for fairs and festivals! We don’t have our state fair until October and most of the time it’s still very warm then, too. Love your shot.

See, we go through tough winters so we can stay outdoors all summer long! Our festival season is June – October or so. There’s always some sort of fair, festival, carnival going on in the state of Maine during this time of year. Love it!

We have no shortage of them this time of year. Next one up is Bath Heritage Days to celebrate July 4th. Parades (on land and water), carnival, art show, fireman’s muster. All kinds of fun.

Nope. That’s fried dough. Funnel cake isn’t that big up here. My husband, who grew up in Nashville, actually had to tell me what it was at a fair one time.

They should make bacon air freshener. Who am I kidding? They probably already do. I should go do some shopping….

you could call it an elephant ear (some do), but when i’m sporting powdered sugar and grease from ear to ear, the last thing I’m thinking of is semantics.

You could just dangle a slice of bacon from your rear-view mirror. Who are we kidding? You’d eat it before you got out of your driveway.
