Following are some photos I’ve taken during the first two days I’ve spent in Nicaragua with WaterAid America. I’ve shared more on my social media channels, which you can easily follow here. You can also watch the video I recorded after my first full day in Nicaragua here.
I’ll be heading out to more remote areas on Wednesday and Thursday and will be staying “in community” this evening, so I will be without an internet connection for some time. I’ll update when I get back to a place that has wifi!
Looks like you are seeing some amazing stuff and truly again can’t wait to hear all about it now 🙂
It’s hard to capture in words and photos alone, but I will do my best!
Thanks for sharing the amazing pics! The dusty road picture is gorgeous! Hope you’re having a great trip. Safe travels!
Thanks, Nicole. The dust is pretty crazy when a truck drives by. Very pretty too though!
Thank you for all of the amazing updates, Jennifer. Have a great time in the more remote areas!
Thanks, Jennifer! I am so thankful for this opportunity. Staying in community was a wonderful experience.
Lovely Jennifer! I am truly enjoying your posts!
Thanks for all your support and sharing, Nicole. I appreciate it!
Jen,
I’m enjoying seeing the trip through your eyes! Keep up the good work!
Jen 🙂
Thanks, Jen! 🙂
Awesome, awesome photos. Can wait to see/hear more! xo
Thanks, Cyndi. Stay tuned!
Amazing… oh how I am loving your posts and videos and pictures… we are all learning so much from you!
From your eyes.
From your perceptions and your heart.
From your shared moments and new awareness.
We are learning so so much.
Thank you for this. Thank you for having the courage and the passion to pursue this mission.
I am thankful for the opportunity and for the amazing supportive community I have. Especially you, Chris!
I love the photo of the hanging laundry.
And I love that you’re able to update us on your journey.
I love that I am able to share from here. So much to share!
Wow. I’m not sure if it’s the way you captured these photos or just how it really is or just my perception, but even in a place that needs so much help, I still see so much beauty in it.
You hit the nail on the head, Ashlee! Despite the lack of basic necessities, there is tremendous beauty here, both in the land and the people.
Those are really amazing pictures Jen. And I agree with Ashlee – beautiful place. I love the dusty road shot. So proud of you!
Thank you, Alexa! You’ve been such a wonderful, supportive friend!
I suppose I wasn’t expecting you to post anything this Wednesday since I knew you were away. Glad I didn’t miss this post though. Great pictures and looking forward to reading all about your trip.
I was happy to have had enough connection to do so!
I have limited access to internet and I have been dying to read and see how you are doing and I just LOVE seeing that your experience is so profound and obviously enlightening to you, and all of us reading and living through your journey, Jen. I can’t wait to see and learn more!!
Keep the course, do good, make water. (Oh, and eat bacon…when you get home.)
The first thing I wanted when I came home was vegetables! I barely had a trace of vegetables when I was in Nicaragua. What an experience though.
Looks like you are accomplishing some great things there! The dusty road picture is beautiful…I can’t wait to see more of the pictures you have taken.
Thanks, Michelle. The dust was pretty crazy. Every time a truck went by, we had to cover our faces.
