I love lighthouses. And this is a great photo. I think you and I should go visit it and stand outside on the top. And you should be eating bacon, and me, pizza.
We only stopped for a short time, so we didn’t pay to get in. This was taken on the rocks by the water below the lighthouse. ๐ End of next week, we’ll be visiting Quoddy Head Light. Can’t wait!
I used to love seeing the lighthouses out west when I lived in California but I was always surprised in my stubborn mind to learn that they weren’t any more beautiful or special than the ones I grew up with in the northeast. Love. I love to climb in them too. Even when they sway in the wind.
The title caught my eye – Pemaquid – a relative of mine emigrating from Britain survived a shipwreck in the Angel Gabriel. off the coast at Pemaquid … 400 years ago. He was caught in what was termed the ‘storm of the century’ back then in 1638.
I love lighthouses – and I love learning the history behind them! We head to the Outerbanks in a few weeks and I can’t wait to visit their 4 lighthouses – you can climb a couple too and get some spectacular views!
Lighthouses are great. We totally take them for granted here in Maine. We have so many! I’ve actually never climbed to the top of one. I’ll have to do that some time.
Seriously- this doesn’t even look real it’s so perfect and amazing in every way!!! Oh how I have missed checking in with YOU Jen!!! Love your pictures… truly. Love YOU!
PS- I am SO jealous you and Ilene got to hang together at Blogher. I SO would have been right there with you!!! Xoxo
Next year. ๐
I LOVE light houses! This is a great shot! Your Wordless Wednesdays actually inspired me while we were on our trip… I tried to get some good shots. Maybe one day I’ll get around to downloading them! ๐

Lighthouses are just so cool. I love to learn about the keepers of the lighthouses. So interesting!
I love all of the lighthouses in Maine. And you guys have a ton of them due to the rocky shores.
I was standing on the rocky shores while I took this photo! Yes. We have a lot of lighthouses. We kind of take them for granted sometimes.

That is fascinating, Lynne!

They most certainly do, Tess!
