We hit 29 on Sunday and had 50 degree weather on Monday. It was so weird. It felt like a heat wave. I must be getting used to it though because the -7 windchill today doesn’t feel as cold. I’m just happy it’s not -27 anymore!
Awesome picture and I am with Michelle that the last few days here have been brutal and thank god it will warm up for a few days here, too, because just too cold for me!
This frigid weather is part of living in Maine. After a few days of these below zero temps, my body gets somewhat used to it (long johns help!). This week is much better than last week! Hang in there. ๐
Currently it’s 8 but feels like -7. G and I actually debated whether or not we should walk to school this morning. I decided against it since the school doesn’t even let the kids go outside during single digits. Looks like a high of 20 today, which feels amazing, I have to say.
What a beautiful photo, Jennifer. Your photography is amazing! Which camera did you use?
I was going through old photos last night and came across our trip to Maine and Acadia. Boy, do I miss it up there!
Thanks, Cathy! I used my iPhone 5S for this one. We were out walking after an ice storm (during, really) so I didn’t want to lug my bigger camera around in case I fell. My husband found the droplet and immediately said he found my Wordless Wednesday photo!
And Acadia is just amazing. So beautiful.
Very nice! I was expecting to see quite a few cold-weather pics this Wordless Wednesday, what with the polar vortex descending upon us all. ๐ Makes me long for spring!
So beautiful! I took SO many photos when I went to CO for Christmas, but, alas…no time to blog about it…but I might put on my flickr account for fun. Yeah…teaching, tutoring, and getting ready for classes and built a tutoring website so I can get more clients…my blog…growing cobwebs…but I’ll still stop in from time to time.
THAT is a gorgeous photo!
That is gorgeous! Thankfully the polar vortex is loosening its icy grip today, and temps are already climbing. More importantly, daycare re-opened today! This mama needs to get some work done!!
I’m lucky in that my daycare doesn’t close when the bad weather comes. Only if the electricity goes out and there’s no heat (and that’s very rare). Besides the major holidays, she was open. Our road crews work around the clock to keep things as clear as possible. It was nice to be able to get things done!
We just found it like that, Chris. It was totally frozen in time. If you look really close, you can see the small sliver of ice keeping it attached. Cool, isn’t it? Or maybe I should say frozen!
Really cool photo! We had some of that earlier in the week. These frigid temps are getting old. I’m looking forward to warmer conditions that are expected to arrive tomorrow for the next several days. What I’m really looking forward to is spring. Happy WW!
Ah, spring. That won’t be here (in Maine) for quite some time. We sometimes just thaw out and go straight to summer. Here’s hoping the temps stay in the double digits for a few days!
What a cool picture! Thankfully it is supposed to be warming up here over the next few days…yesterday was brutal!

Cool capture!
Thanks, Beth! My husband saw the suspended frozen droplet and alerted me right away. ๐
That is SO COOL! It totally looks like it should be in National Geographic or something. Love it! :)-Ashley
Wow. Thanks, Ashley. If only…. ๐
What a cool picture!! It’s has been absurdly cold the past few days, but I think a warm up is coming this weekend ๐
We got warmer on Sunday and Monday, but we’ve dipped back down. You just never know in New England!
I love icicle pictures! That’s gorgeous! How are the temps there today? Here, it will go up 20 degrees by the time the kids get off the bus later.

Awesome picture. But brr. Makes me want some hot chocolate.
Hot chocolate sounds good right about now!

It’s funny to hear people talking about the polar vortex and Hercules (since when do we name winter storms?). To us in Maine, it’s just winter! ๐

THAT is a gorgeous photo!
Thanks for stopping by, Cyndi. I appreciate the visit. ๐
Amazing shot!
Glad things are warming up for you. Here too. Sandal weather by Saturday, I hear… (;
Sandals? I forget what sandals are. ๐
Beautiful…!

And you made it look beautiful!
Brr..but beautiful.
I really can’t wait for spring. For moose and blogging conventions and so much more.
Yes! If only we could find a blogging convention that had a breakout session for moose watching…
I love that red against the white! Such a lovely picture ๐
I was kind of surprised to see the color. So pretty. And frozen.
WOW!! That is just the COOLEST capture ever!!! Just amazing isn’t it? Did you wait for it? How did you catch it?

I love the combination of the red with the ice, as if preserved.
That’s what I thought it looked like too. Sort of just frozen in time.
I feel like that branch – incased in ice. I should be thawed out by May or so.
Ha! I think a lot of people feel incased in ice right now. That might be why I’ve been drinking so much hot coffee lately…
Ah, that’s so cool!
Thanks, Bev. I was excited that my husband found it!

So beautiful! I love capturing rain droplets or ice droplets : )
It’s cool, isn’t it? Especially when you get the shot!
Fantastic shot! Ice looks much more lovely on nature than roads ๐
I agree, Christa!
