My family loves sports. We love watching sports. In fact, a good sporting event is the only time we allow television to be on during dinnertime. It’s our little splurge. (Plus, who wants to miss a good game?!)
We love college basketball, hockey (so wish they were playing right now!), NCAA football and even some soccer every now and then.
But we really love football.
Back in the day – when I had more time to actually pay attention to individual players and their stats and go to sports bars to watch football all day – I used to be a pretty awesome fantasy football owner. I don’t mean to brag, but I’ve won some championships. Like, more than one. (My secret was to draft the best defense in the league while all the other men participants would fight over the best running backs.)
The only problem we have in my house is that we don’t all agree on the same football team to root for. Being a native New Englander, the Patriots are my team. My husband, who was born in New Jersey, is a New York Giants fan. The last Super Bowl was a bit of a problem for us.
Somehow, G has become a Green Bay Packers fan, mainly because his favorite color is green and there’s a big “G” on their helmets. He also likes Aaron Rogers, which is OK by me. He’s still a fan of Tom Brady and the New England Patriots, so I let it slide. (My favorite player is Ray Lewis so we allow some leeway.)
Biz, ever the antagonist at the age of 3, likes to root for the teams we all hate.
So, when we had the opportunity to make a custom calendar on SportsFreak365.com, Biz requested teams like the New York Jets and the Dallas Cowboys.
We promptly overruled him. Because we still can.
Did you catch that I said a “custom” calendar? G and I actually sat down, picked the photos of the players we liked from the teams that we liked (or not in the case of the Giants) on SportsFreak365.com and made our own sports calendar.
Seriously. I’ve never seen anything like this. You can pick any player from any team and choose which month you want them displayed. You can even add your own events – like birthdays and anniversaries – to your calendar.
It is the perfect gift for the SportsFreak in your life.
I, of course, picked Ray Lewis for my birthday month of January. G particularly liked the picture of Aaron Rogers with the Super Bowl trophy and confetti. Biz just wanted to pose with Tom Brady. The Giants fan did not want to take a picture with his part of the calendar. (Typical Giants fan.)
Of course, SportsFreak365.com also has lots of other stuff for the SportsFreak in your life. Like, say, for example, these Boston Bruins etched pint glasses that seem to look a lot like the one I had when they won the Stanley Cup and has since broken. (Just saying.)
