Each Friday, the another jennifer blog shares stories of those who incorporate philanthropy into their everyday lives – personally and professionally – in a creative and unique way. If you have a story you’d like to share, please contact Jennifer.
That’s right, my amazing readers. You have been smiled!
Why? Because it’s World Smile Day.
Also, because smiling is quite possibly the best way to give back.
World Smile Day was started by Harvey Ball, who invented the ever popular smiley face in 1963. After a while, Ball became concerned that his symbol of happiness and good will was starting to lose its meaning. He proposed World Smile Day as a time to spread smiles and acts of kindness. Because, as the website states, “the smiley face knows no politics, no geography and no religion.”
Your task for the day is to smile and spread some good will. Smile when you work, smile when you walk, smile when you talk, smile when you tweet. Smile at strangers. Smile at your kids. Smile at your dogs. Just smile!
Because you know what? When you smile, you lift other people’s spirits as well as your own. It’s good for everyone. It’s good for our well being. It’s good for our community.
So, go out there and smile and report back on how it made you, or the recipient of your smile, feel.
🙂
