I had another post planned for today, until I realized it was World Kindness Day.
Some people might freak out a bit today being Friday the 13th and all. I’m pretty sure you can combat just about anything with a little kindness.
To celebrate World Kindness Day, I wanted to share my friend Janine Huldie’s book review of Simple Giving. Not only did she review the book, she also talked with her two girls about how they could be kind to others. They came up with 20 acts of kindness for all kids. It’s a pretty awesome list.
Everyday Acts of Kindness is the first of the six giving models I talk about in my book, Simple Giving. If you’d like to read an excerpt of this chapter, take a look at this post on Books for Better Living.
I’ve been compiling a list of all the book reviews and articles that have been published on the book. I hope to have that list on a permanent page her or on Simple Giving Lab this weekend. I have been humbled by the response it has received so far.
While we are on the kindness subject, I have one request for you. If you’ve read the book and have truly enjoyed it, I would love for you to write a short, honest review on Amazon. These reviews help authors in big ways. And they keep us from scorpion petting.
No one wants to resort to scorpion petting.
If you haven’t read my book yet, leave a review for another book you enjoyed. And then ship a scorpion to me. 😉
What other acts of kindness will you perform today?
Each Friday, the another jennifer blog shares stories of those who incorporate philanthropy into their everyday lives – personally and professionally – in a creative and unique way. If you have a story you’d like to share, please contact Jennifer. Read past stories here.
