Philanthropy Friday: A Simple Giving Endorsement from PSI

I got the galley proofs of Simple Giving from my publisher. Not the final product, but very very close!
I got the galley proofs of Simple Giving from my publisher. Not the final product, but very very close!

I recently shared some of the story behind my book Simple Giving on World Moms Blog. As we get closer to launch date – October 27, 2015 to be exact – I want to share more bits and pieces about the book.

There are some really great stories in the book that illustrate the six different giving models I write about. I also include action steps and resources at the end of each chapter. And, of course, I talk about the psychology of giving. Because it all makes more sense when you understand why it feels good to give. (Last week’s Philanthropy Friday touched on that subject.)

I will be sharing more about the giving models, companies and people that are featured in the book in the weeks ahead. Today, I want to share with you the very first endorsement I received for Simple Giving:

The beauty of Simple Giving is its practical content. Jennifer has found the balance between inspiring stories and accessible giving measures that help to turn the chaos of today’s philanthropy landscape into a roadmap for fulfilling end effective change-making.  If you want to give effectively, read Simple Giving.

~Karl Hofmann, CEO, PSI

You may recall that I visited the headquarters of PSI last year and geeked out on global development for a day. PSI is an organization that I have gotten to know well and am consistently impressed by their work. I am truly honored to not only have Karl read my book before launch date, but also endorse it.

I am also organizing a blog tour for the book. If you are a blogger and are interested in getting a copy to read and review and possibly one to give away to your readers, let me know in the comment section or contact me.

Simple Giving is available for pre-sale on Amazon, B&N, Books-A-Million and Indiebound.

Each Friday, the another jennifer blog shares stories of those who incorporate philanthropy into their everyday lives – personally and professionally – in a creative and unique way. If you have a story you’d like to share, please contact Jennifer. Read past stories here.

If you want to put my name down, I would be more than happy to read and review when you set up your blog tour. I am taking some time off in August to go to Disney, but once the kids are back in school this Fall, I am hoping to get my self back into get gear and would be honored to share with my readers for you 😉

[…] When the organization I was working for moved its location in 2011, I decided to pursue more freelance writing jobs and consulting work and really grow my blog. I was fortunate enough to also stay with my former employer doing work on a contract basis until just last month. While I worked with other nonprofits, NGOs, entrepreneurs and small businesses in the meantime, I wasn’t sure what I would do to supplant that income. I was getting that same feeling that I had right before I started seeking out work in the nonprofit sector. It was even stronger as I was editing my book, Simple Giving. […]
