Today is World Give Day, a day that is designed to inspire you to give.
Give what? Anything you can. It could be hugs, kisses, advice, time, money to your favorite charity. Whatever you choose.
World Give Day was started last year by GiveForward. The point of it is to encourage and empower people to give on one day a year to a cause they care about. The more giving the better. And if you don’t have money, you can give good deeds.
I recently gave money to a couple of charities to help support victims of a fire in my neighborhood and to send disadvantaged kids to a summer camp in TN. I helped my son donate dog food to a local shelter as part of a fundraiser through his elementary school earlier this week.
So, what will I do today?
So far, I have given some encouragement to a friend. I have also set aside time to get some really good (and needed) one-on-one time with my two year old. I have dedicated time to blog about World Give Day (here and on the other blog I write).
We should all take some time to give. Even if it is only for one day. That day, you could make a really big impact in someone’s life.
Give it a try.
[And please share what you are giving in the comments section so you can inspire others!]
