This month, I gave to my local American Red Cross.
Summertime is a tough time for the Red Cross. Donations go down in June, July and August. I guess we’re thinking more about vacations than disasters.
If you’re new to this blog, I pledged to donate money to a different nonprofit every month.
My neighborhood had a tough few months last year with four devastating fires within walking distance from my house. Luckily, this year has been quiet.
The Midcoast Chapter of the American Red Cross played a crucial role in helping the people and businesses who were affected by the fires.
If anything were to happen to our house, I want to know that my local Red Cross is equipped to help. My donation will help support the lifesaving mission of the American Red Cross in my community.
