I’m just going to preface this post by reminding you that I live in Brunswick, Maine.
So, let’s recap the day.
I drove my son to school, who was wearing shorts, with the sunroof open.
I put the outdoor furniture on the deck and worked on my iPad in the sun.
It was 80 degrees as I ate my lunch on my back porch.
I was hot. (I am always cold.)
My Siberian huskies roasted themselves in the sun and required extra water. They are shedding heavily.
We had to break the fans out for the third floor, so my kids won’t roast when they sleep tonight.
There’s a food cart out on the Brunswick Mall, but the benches and trash cans aren’t out yet.
After picking up my son from the school bus, we walked (I walked, G biked) the 2 miles or so to pick up my younger son from daycare.
There are signs like this on Maine Street right now.
It’s March 22, 2012.
Whaaat?
I have to think that this warm, beautiful weather won’t last. Though I’ve opened the sandbox and broken out some outdoor furniture, I still refuse to put the snow shovel and boots away.
It is, in fact, still Maine. And March.
How’s the weather where you are?
