This blog post is sponsored by Walgreens but all opinions are my own.
Winter is just around the corner.
I adore fall in Maine with its abundance of vivid leaves, apple cider donuts, and crisp air.
I mean, really. How lucky am I to live here?
But the weather is changing quickly. It’s not uncommon to see frost-covered grass when I wake up (or frosting, as Biz used to say).
Of course, I have to turn a light on to see it because it’s so, so dark when I get up in the morning! I’ve broken out the sweaters and bought some new boots and leg warmers that I’m pretty excited about.
I haven’t seen the first snowflakes fall yet, but I suspect it will happen sooner than later.
The good news is that it’s not too late to get your flu shot.
Yes, I’m reminding you about flu shots!
I told you about Walgreens Get a Shot. Give a Shot® campaign several weeks ago. The partnership with The United Nations Foundation’s Shot@Life allows customers to make a world of difference by getting their flu shot at Walgreens. For every immunization administered, Walgreens will donate a lifesaving vaccine to a child in a developing country.*
If you missed it last time, check out the moving video that shows the impact your flu shot at Walgreens could have on a child that wants to say “when I grow up” not “if I grow up.”

Winter can often be synonymous with sickness for some people. If you want to help protect yourself from the flu this season, there is still plenty of time to get your flu shot before the holidays hit.
There’s $0 copay with most insurances, and you’ll provide a lifesaving vaccine to children in a developing country. That’s a pretty good example of simple giving – taking care of yourself so you can take care of your kids (if you are a parent, of course) and giving back through Walgreens Get a Shot. Give a Shot® campaign.
You can find your local Walgreens store HERE.
How do you stay healthy during the winter months? Did you get your flu shot at Walgreens yet?
* From July 1, 2015 to August 31, 2016, for every immunization administered, Walgreens will donate $0.18 to the United Nations Foundation, up to a maximum donation of $2,000,000. For more information, go to Walgreens.com/GetaShot.
