If my sons vlogged

February 6, 2013 By anotherjennifer 22 Comments

I’m joining Mama Kat and MomPulse again for another vlogging workshop.

However, this week, I’m leaving the vlogging up to my sons.

The vlogging prompt this week: 5.) Give your child your camera and share when they vlogged or filmed (edit as needed!)

My boys, ages 4 and 7, each have their own small tablet that has photo and video capabilities.

It’s interesting to see what they capture in photo and video. Here’s a pretty representative collage of photos from their tablets:

tabletphotosThere seem to be a lot of legs in their photos.

Their videos? Well, I’ll let you decide whether or not they are ready to hit the vlogging world.

Watch the video (and hit the subscribe button if you like what you see!)

What kind of videos do your kids take?

And this post beautifully illustrates the power of a child with a visual recording device. The photo of the cars, trucks, planes and dog legs is STUNNING.

I love the side ways looks, the mouth scene was great and the use of Legos was spot on.
In a word or two…I loved it!
    Great job guys!

I thought the sideways view was very edgy and unexpected.

That was weird. I was able to delete the youtube link at the end of the comment. That did the trick.

It’s too bad the video showed up so big or I would have just left it. I didn’t even realize you could do that!

I think your boys are definitely budding cinematographers. It looks as though they were having fun anyway. It’s good to record this stuff for blackmail when they are teenagers. xox

Interesting viewpoint. It’s great looking into the minds eye of a child.

This is awesome! It kind of reminded me of the Blair Witch Project in some scenes!!! I love it that you are vlogging every week! I feel like I really know you now! I see Mama Kat’s prompts each week and think “this week I’m gonna do that!’ but then I don’t!
Is it hard to edit and combine pieces? I would love to try this next week!
I am sure my son’s vlog would look about identical!

It is very much like Blair Witch Project!

It’s been fun vlogging. I haven’t done too much editing, but it’s really pretty easy. I use iMovie.

I’d love to see you vlog!
