Disclosure: I received two amazing packages from Shari’s Berries that inspired this post. The opinions, words and photos are all mine. Sadly, the treats are no longer.
About a week before Mother’s Day, I received an email from a nice gentleman named Wes from Shari’s Berries. He offered me the opportunity to choose some Mother’s Day gifts from their website. The only catch was that I had to share my decadent treats with a mom in my life and talk about the “momisms” that make her unique
Twist my arm, Wes.
Not long after, two packages arrived containing these:
While I wasn’t entirely sure what a “momism” is – that’s still unclear to me, actually – I did have an idea of who I wanted to share my treats with. The only problem was that she got stuck at work and couldn’t come over with her son – my youngest’s bestie – so that they could play while we stuffed our faces with truffles and chocolate covered strawberries.
I realized the other moms I had in mind were also ladies with full schedules that involved work, after school activities, shlepping kids and more.
Honestly, it’s hard for the moms that I know to just stop and enjoy a decadent treat.
So I decided to deliver the treats to them instead.
Why did I choose these moms?
Because they are always there, without judgment.
Because they take my kids, along with their own, so I can work out on Thursday nights and Friday mornings, the one thing I do for myself.
Because sometimes they just take my kids so I can keep up with life and keep myself sane.
Because they sigh with me in a movie theatre while watching Monkey Kingdom with four kids because they relate to the main character in the movie, a single mother/monkey.
Because they understand the struggle – some from firsthand experience – even when the struggle isn’t so obvious on the outside.
Because they are amazing moms with amazing kids that I would take in any day of the week.
Because they give so much and don’t ask for anything in return.
Because they get it.
Thank you Somer, Elizabeth, Julie and Keri. xoxo
Oh, and the treats were beyond amazing. I highly recommend shopping at Shari’s Berries all year round.

There is nothing so sweet as this – letting your dear mom friends know how appreciated they are. And umm… I want to eat all of this at once.
I have a very close group of kindergarten mom and dad friends and we are all there for each other during some tough times. That’s what I’d do.
I’ve heard a lot about Shari’s Berries – need to research.
