Advertise Your Blog or Business with a Car Decal

September 17, 2013 By anotherjennifer 19 Comments

I was given a free car decal from Signs.com in exchange for this post. The opinions and text are all mine.

Have you ever seen people with their businesses and websites proudly displayed on their cars and wanted to have one of your own decals?

For some reason, I never thought of myself as someone that was important enough to put my website on my car.

But when Signs.com asked me if I wanted to have a car decal made with my blog address on it, I decided to go for it.

After all, I am legit. (I have a sticky note on my wall to remind me of this, but that’s a story for another day.)

Because my business and my blog are pretty much one in the same, I chose to have my website url, anotherjennifer.com, along with my tagline printed on the car decal.

The kind people over at Signs.com took over from there. They sent me a proof of my decal and it was shipped soon after my approval.

Fair warning. Be sure to read the installation instructions before putting the decal on your car. I learned this key step the hard way.

Installing my car decal from Signs.com. My husband is much better at making things straight.

The first decal I received had anotherjennifer.com in the purple and red lettering of my logo. These colors did not show up well on the tinted windows of my car. It didn’t matter though because we failed miserably at installing the decal. The package didn’t come with instructions, so we just peeled and attempted to stick. Turns out, using soapy water on the car window and on the decal helps you position the sticker properly.

Luckily those kind people at Signs.com worked with me, sent another decal and emailed me proper installation instructions.

Again, read the installation instructions so your car decal looks good and not all weird and bubbly.

The white lettering is a lot easier to read on my heavily tinted windows.

The end result is an easy installation of a car decal that I think looks pretty sharp on my car.

What do you think?

In addition to car decals, Signs.com also offers banners , magnets, and wall decals. The best part is that you can customize it all to your needs.

How do you promote your business, blog or website offline?

I like it! I used to be a Pampered Chef Consultant, and the biggest mistake I made was putting my full name and my personal phone number. I eventually took it off because I was scared to death that some road raging psycho would stalk me! But I love the simplicity of yours and it’s so easy to quickly jot down your web page if someone is interested!

I don’t think I’d like my phone number on there either. Seems like an open invitation for weirdos to call you while in traffic. I figure the url and tagline are enough to get people wondering about the site. We’ll see!

Ooooooh, it looks AWESOME!! I was thinking about getting Ashley a The Dose of Reality car magnet for Christmas, but this is even cooler! (plus easier to read!) Does it interfere with your ability to look out your back window when you are driving or is it something you just get used to? That’s my only concern. I LOVE IT and totally want one!! –Lisa

The lettering doesn’t get in my way at all. I don’t think it would be an issue unless the decal is really busy. That’s a great idea for a present! They have magnets too, so you can compare and decide which you like best.

I love it. I have a web designer friend who makes logos for me and he went through a list of products he can design (flyers, posters, business cards, etc.) and this was an option. We have a big ugly white minivan, so I think my black and white logo would look perfect.
