Wordless Wednesday (sort of): 6 Quotes on Love

jennifer · February 11, 2015 · 28 Comments

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. There are many posts in my brain on true love, the positive side of divorce, dating (or not) as a single parent and relationships in general. But larger deadlines loom, and so those posts will have to wait for now. Heck, some will require a different platform than this one. Instead, I leave you with 6 quotes on love for you to stew on. I would *love* your thoughts on them, as they are different from your typical quotes on romance and love. Oh, how my perspective has changed over this past year.

Great perspective here and will say that my mom always told that no one could truly loved us unless we loved ourselves first. And have to admit I struggled with this for a long time into my early twenties, but then I finally embraced who I was for better or worse and then I met Kevin. Might have been a fluke coincidence, but still I think it had a lot to do with this.

Your mom is a smart woman. And I do think we thrive in all relationships when we love ourselves first.

I thought each of these was good especially because I hadn’t heard any but then I read the Maya Angelou one and think that’s really the best one for me. Glad I got to see these!

I was just at my aunt’s funeral yesterday where everyone talked about how full of love she was. At the bottom of the pamphlet they gave out to everyone at the ceremony it was the following quote about love: “The greatest thing you’ll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return.” George Alexander Aberle. I thought it was a lovely quote and an important life lesson for everyone.
Such a fitting post for this time of year, Jen, and a great reminder that love is so much more than romantic love.

Well I do love love quotes! I don’t know if I have any great ones. Mostly song lyrics. Probably by Counting Crows, to be honest.
