Wordless Wednesday: Not Really the Intention

jennifer · April 23, 2014 · 33 Comments

My good friend contributed today’s Wordless Wednesday photo. As you can see, her bird feeder isn’t being used as intended.

Cracked me up when I saw it on Facebook. It was my friend’s idea to use it for WW!

    What a great photo.
Growing up, we had a bird feeder by our kitchen window, and inevitably the same thing would happen. At our house now, I wanted a bird feeder, but I don’t want the bears too close to our house!

I think I’d much rather have squirrels than bears by the house. Eek!

Those squirrels are persistent! I don’t have bird feeders — too many cats around here! I don’t want to encourage them.

    Wow, what a shot!!
We have a feeder called a Squirrel Buster. It can’t hold their weight but it does ok with big birds. Hmm. Maybe it’s also that if you come at it from below, it tips you but if you fly onto it, you’re fine.
Anyway I do have a few shots of a squirrel giving up and flying off of it.

I’ve heard of the squirrel buster, but I’d never seen one. Intriguing.

Haha, that is a great photo! (The cat watching the squirrel just completes it.) My mother-in-law is constantly dealing with squirrels eat the bird food and trying out different ways to keep them away. Unfortunately, I don’t think she has succeeded. They’re clever little creatures!

The picture was taken by my friend at her house. I don’t think the bird feeder has worked out very well for the birds.

The squirrels here we so bad we ended up buying a squirrel-proof feeder. I was skeptical, but it really works. The best though was years ago when my husband woke me up to look at our feeder – there was a raccoon sitting on top of it.

Ours tend to stick to the trees. Or they mess with the bulbs in my garden. Darn squirrels.
