Frogs rock. It’s like the second one snuck up on the first and was like, “hey man … whatcha doin’?” Love this shot!
Guess who had garlic Parmesan chicken wings last night?

The frogs were perfectly content in that position. I’ve never seen anything like it.
And I’m totally jealous about the wings. I’m going to have to put in another request to my husband for more.

Have I ever told you that I am afraid of frogs? I mean not as much as I used to be as a kid, but still a little…the good news is that I am now definitely awake! ;)-Ashley

I’m so sorry, Ashley! I remember your fear now that you mention it. I believe I read it in a past blog post. I should have put a warning at the top. (My college roommate also had a fear of frogs.)

I love this shot. Where did you take it?

Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens. There’s lots of pretty flowers for me and frogs and turtles for the boys! It’s a great place.

Thank you, Chris! I was pretty excited about this one. It was such an odd sight to see. I’m so happy to have captured it.

Spectacular. The water, so still, all that reflection, those eyes. You’ve just caught it beautifully. And I love the subtlety of the tint…
Thanks, Matilda. The original picture was great, but I liked how the sepia caught the eyes and the reflections. I love it when a picture works out!

Shhhhh. Don’t tell Ashley (first comment). I’m surprised my boys didn’t scare them into moving before I got the shot!

Thanks, Krystal. It’s funny how people have strong feelings about frogs. You’re not the first person to tell me you don’t like frogs!

cool shot! We were at the lake the other day and there was a frog hopping around. I could not believe it when Tiny just reached down and picked it up! Blech!
Ha! My boys were trying to pick up tadpoles at the botanical gardens (where I took this shot). It didn’t work out so well, thankfully. It’s fun to visit now and then later on in the summer when the whole place is crawling (hopping?) with frogs!
And I’m with you. I’d rather look at frogs than touch them.
very cool shot.

Wow. Thanks for the big compliment, Kerri!
Oh my – amazing! I got photo envy! What a moment. You should probably frame this one. I would buy it in a store! I remember being in Bethel, ME once really late at night and kinda lost, and it seemed like it was raining frogs from the sky. They were everywhere. It was nearly impossible not to hit one with my car but I hope I didn’t.
Tamara recently posted..I Am Number Four.
That’s hilarious, Tamara. That seems pretty probably in Bethel. This shot was taken at the botanical gardens in Boothbay Harbor. By the end of the summer, there are frogs everywhere.
And I am honored that you have photo envy with one of my photos. I always have photo envy with yours!
Such an awesome shot!!

Thanks, Cynthia. I think frogs are pretty cool. A wildlife encounter!
p.s. It’s nice to see you back into the blogging thing. I hope all is well.
What a great picture! I remember at the end of third grade I took my son and his friend to a place in Connecticut that they’d learned about in school that year that both of them really wanted to go to. After about an hour and a half drive, we spent more time looking for frogs in the pond than touring the site! I have a ton of frog pics from that day!!
Michelle recently posted..Old School Blogging, Lists of Five
That sounds like fun, Michelle! At the botanical gardens, where this shot was taken, you can observe the entire cycle of the frogs. We saw tadpoles with legs (there’s probably another term for the frog at that point?) during this visit, along with the frogs I took a picture of. By the end of the summer, there are frogs everywhere!
