    • Popham Beach is amazing. While we are in a bit of a cove in this picture (with an old fort behind me), there’s big, beautiful open ocean on the other side of that lighthouse.

  12. Love the ocean! Take me there now!!!

  13. What a beautiful place. I’m going to Maine with my mom this summer since she’s never been there. Totally alien to me as it’s one of my favorite places. Land and sea. I think we’re going the more woodsy route but I told her we simply must have a night in York or Old Orchard or Bar Harbor.

    • My advice would be to skip York and Old Orchard Beach and go further north. Bar Harbor is always a great place to visit. We’ll be camping in Acadia this summer. Watching the first sunrise in the US from Cadillac Mountain is awesome. Places like Camden and Boothbay Harbor are also beautiful. Have fun! Let me know if you need any suggestions!

  16. Great shot! Your photos are getting better and better every time I check on you. ;-)

    Keep up the good work.

  17. Looks so nice. The only beach I’ve ever been to in Maine is Old Orchard Beach – which is also nice, but I live right off of Cape Cod, so when I travel, it’s usually not for the beach.

    • If I were to make a list of beaches to visit in Maine, I’d probably put OOB on the bottom. So not representative of Maine’s awesome beaches. Popham is lesser known, but one of the best in the state (in my humble opinion).

I grew up outside of Cape Cod. Lots of great memories at those beaches!
