Last October, I blogged about wanting to pick apples and Halloween costumes instead of being greeted by inflatable Santas in big box store parking lots.
That post was in mid-October of 2011. This picture was taken last Friday:
It’s September, people. Can we stop breaking the Christmas decorations out so early? The above picture was technically taken in the summer.
The first day of fall was Saturday, the 22nd. I barely want to address Halloween, never mind Christmas.
And why do we always have to skip over Thanksgiving?
I just started the new soccer schedule on Saturdays. We haven’t even picked apples or bought pumpkins yet.
Also, why is Target selling a flamingo wearing a Santa Claus hat? (That, of course, was Biz’s favorite. He calls them flingos.)
I think I’ve made my point.
Enjoy the seasons as they come. But not before.
‘Tis not the season.
Have you seen Christmas decorations out in stores? Please share, so I can avoid those stores.

I saw lots Christmas inflatables in Lowes the 2nd week of September. So weird.

While I was waiting for my Mom at the foot doctor the other day so i took a walk thru Big Lots.
They were putting up Christmas right next to Halloween and Thanksgiving.
Pitiful!
I don’t see why we have to rush into Christmas. It just stresses everybody out.

I completely agree! Let’s enjoy the holiday’s that happen before x-mas before we dive into x-mas!

I KNOW!!!! It always stresses me out to see stuff out so early…like I need to be thinking and preparing for that season already when I haven’t even started the season we are actually ENTERING!!! Just drives me CRAZY!! Every year it seems to get even more ridiciulous. Do people actually purchase stuff that early? Don’t. Get. It.

I hope not. And I hope I don’t see a pink flamingo in a Santa hat in my neighborhood!
Ugh, this is such a pet peeve of mine! In October, I want to see Autumn, Halloween, and Thanksgiving themed things!!! I just saw Christmas things all over the dollar store. Seriously?!

So, I’ve got Target, Lowe’s, Big Lots and dollar stores on my list of stores to avoid for a while. Thanks!

The decorations are out in full force in my NJ Target too! Since Target is the ONLY store I shop in, I haven’t seen them anywhere else. I am right there with you. I’d like to pick an apple or a pumpkin before getting to egg nog and snowmen.

It drives me crazy. It’s like they want us to forget about Halloween and Thanksgiving all together.
