Another Friday, another endorsement to share for Simple Giving.
I feel so blessed to have such wonderful people take the time to read my book prior to launch and share their thoughts on it. This blurb (below) is from my friend Paul Dunn, co-founder and chairman of B1G1.
You may recall reading about B1G1 here in the past. I’ve talked about the amazing story behind the company that makes it easy for businesses to incorporate giving into their business model. I’ve also featured one of their members, Naked Specs, as well as their neat app, Shake the World.
Each chapter of Simple Giving includes resources and action steps so you can get started on the giving model you read about. B1G1 is most definitely included as a resource in the book. There are also lots of stories included in the book that illustrate each model. I mentioned the first model last week, Everyday Acts of Kindness.
This week, I will reveal the second giving model in the book: A New Approach to Traditional Philanthropy. In this chapter, I talk about new ways to approach donating money that go beyond sending a check at the end of the year for that last minute tax deduction. I also share a story about B1G1’s Giving Life which allows you to tie everyday activities into your own personal giving.
Here’s what Paul had to say about Simple Giving:
Every so often a book comes along that makes you go “YES!”
Simple Giving does that. And it does it brilliantly.
At some level, we all want to give; that is for sure. But the ‘how to do it effectively’ is often the challenge.
Jennifer gives us that and much, much more.
It’s a definite must read (and a definite ‘must-act-upon’ too).
Put really simply, Simple Giving is a huge contribution to a much better world.
~ Paul Dunn, co-founder and chairman of B1G1 Business for Good
I’m going to keep saying this as we get closer to the launch of the book, but I feel so humbled to hear words like this coming from someone I very much respect.
I am also organizing a blog tour for the book. If you are a blogger and are interested in getting a copy to read and review and possibly one to give away to your readers, let me know in the comment section or contact me.
Simple Giving is available for pre-sale on Amazon, B&N, Books-A-Million, Indiebound and more.
Each Friday, the another jennifer blog shares stories of those who incorporate philanthropy into their everyday lives – personally and professionally – in a creative and unique way. If you have a story you’d like to share, please contact Jennifer. Read past stories here.
