Apparently I’m also a vlogger now, since this is my third vlog in as many weeks. (And last week’s vlog is featured in Mama Kat’s post today!)
I’m joining Mama Kat again for another Vlogging Workshop, and I’m using the prompt:
5.) Show us one of your favorite views.
I wanted to show you a view of my wonderful sons lovingly playing educational toys with each other on the living room floor as I sipped cappuccino and read literary classics on the couch. But I’ve been waiting all week long, and that view is just not showing up.
Since I live in Maine, I went with a scenic view instead.
Maine is full of natural beauty. It’s a large, wooded state with only about 1 million residents. It’s hard to go anywhere in the state without finding a good view.
It’s actually kind of hard to get around the state in general since we have no east west highway and utilize very few signs. (GPS is also a crapshoot, so if you’re in the area, shoot me an email and I can give you good Maine directions like “Take a right where the Dunkin Donuts used to be and then go straight for a while.”)
Being January and extremely cold out right now, I decided not to venture to the ocean. Instead, I went to Bath, the city of ships, to show you the view from Waterfront Park. Bath is about 15 minutes from my town of Brunswick, Maine. In January, the Kennebec River is pretty icy, and the bridge and large cranes from Bath Iron Works are always fun to see.
See for yourself.
What’s your favorite view?

Congrats on being featured on Mama Kat’s today! It’s so funny that we both started out in the car.
I see you’re going to BlogHer ’13! So am I! I haven’t put the badge on my blog yet…I need to do that!

That’s great that you are going to BlogHer ’13. Maybe we can meet up!
We’ll have to revisit our favorite views in the summer as well.

So pretty! I’ve always wanted to visit Maine. That 4th of July boat parade sounds fun and watching fire works by the water is always the best! Happy Wednesday

Thanks, Veronica. Maine is a great place to visit. Bath does 4th of July up right. Parades, fireworks, art show, a carnival and lots of food!
Maine is some place I’ve always wanted to visit, but I haven’t had the chance. But NOT in January. Summer or fall would be more my speed.

I am lucky that I shot the video yesterday and not today. I probably wouldn’t have gotten out of the car. I don’t think it got above 4 today. The “feels like” temp was below zero.
That is a pretty neat view! Thanks for sharing. My favorite view can only be caught a day or two out of the year and didn’t happen this year since fall was so warm! One street looks amazing with how the trees create a yellow canopy over the road a couple blocks from my house. It is so pretty.
Sounds pretty!
I would so love to see the ice crushing boats in action. Beautiful view!

It’s a very cool sight to see! Thanks for watching.
Maine is such a beautiful state.
There is no doubt that it is cold!
Thanks for the tour.

It is stupid cold right now. But, yes, it’s a beautiful state that I’m happy to live in!

Looks beautiful but so, so cold!

What a beautiful city!
It really is. It’s funny that they call it a city though. It’s not exactly hustling and bustling.

Love it, thanks for sharing a slice of Bath, Maine. This is one of my favorite views: http://youtu.be/FDcL_4hARrA If you ever come to Maui, this is a fantastic beach, although be careful because waves can be rough sometimes. The vlogging prompt is cool too, so maybe I’ll join if I have an appropriate vlog.

That’s a great view! I went to Maui on my honeymoon. I was surprised at how powerful the waves were.
If you sign up for Mama Kat’s Vlogging Workshop newsletter, she sends out the prompts weekly. I just started. It’s a lot of fun!
What strikes me about your video is the stillness of the water. Interesting that a photo would not have been able to convey that. (wow… food for thought, lol).
Enjoyed it, mahalo! (visiting via mauishopgirl.com ‘s prompt)
Interesting observation. And very true. Thanks for stopping by!

So pretty! I”ve never been to Maine. We don’t have really large bridges here as you do on the mainland. I think you know what my favorite view is right? The ocean preferably at sunset.
Tania recently posted..Maui Open Studios…Shane Robinson
It’s hard to beat the ocean at sunset. Of course, Maine has the first sunrise in the US. That’s pretty cool too!
