People give me flack for not liking pie. As if I’m not American or something. My husband actually calls me a communist. That’s a little dramatic, I think.
This week, the week of Thanksgiving, is the worst time of year to hate pie. Everything seems to revolve around pie this week. Pumpkin pie, pecan pie, apple pie. None of it appeals to me. At all.
And then there’s the turkey, of course.
Yeah, I pretty much hate turkey too. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll eat turkey. I just don’t really like it. It’s not like the pie thing though.
I really, really don’t like pie. It’s the crust. I hate pie crust. And sweets in general actually.
Give me steak and potatoes any day. And bacon, of course.
The bacon loving usually makes up for the pie hating.
Steak and potatoes is American, right? Who said you have to like pie to be American anyway?

[…] We have never received a thank you for anything in 5 years. The brother once invited me over to see his rhubarb plant, but I’m pretty sure he just wanted me to bake him a rhubarb pie. (He clearly doesn’t know me very well.) […]

So very cool. I don’t like pie either. In fact, if it’s not chocolate cake, or some kind of whipped up chocolate thingy, why bother?
But turkey I like 🙂
I’m not really a fan of sweets at all. But pie is the worst for me. You can see why Thanksgiving is a tough holiday for me. I’m always happy to meet people who don’t like pie either. Thanks for stopping by!
Enjoy your turkey tomorrow!
Ah yep, that’s rough! But pie crust is, well, crusty. Dry and crusty. Yuck. Thanks, have a great one too!
