Hump Day Haiku: Love, Laughter and Weights

jennifer · June 1, 2016 ·

Today’s haiku was inspired by a Facebook post by my friend, Lauren, who you may know from a past Philanthropy Friday post featuring Skipper Waddles. Her post said: “Dirty feet, full heart.”
Lauren and I met through lifting. And, well, if you’ve read anything about my “gym” you know it’s not your ordinary place of fitness. It is outside and guaranteed to fill your heart when you visit. (The photo in the background of my haiku is actually a spot where I routinely work out.)
Here’s what I wrote:

Barefoot and dirty

Sweat dripping down my forehead

Love, laughter and weights

And here’s what Lauren and I co-wrote in the comment section of her post (a bonus haiku, if you will):

Dirty feet, full heart

Satisfyingly sleepy

Need to wash the sheets

#humpdayhaiku

Barefoot and dirty Sweat dripping down my forehead Love, laughter and weights

As per usual, bonus points if you comment in the form of a haiku (5 – 7 – 5 syllables).
