HuffPost Divorce recently asked me to be a part of their Divorce Care Package series. They asked me various questions about the things that got me through divorce – songs, movies, splurges, quotes, etc.
The hope, of course, is that by sharing these experiences we can help those that are dealing with the immense stress that comes in the midst of divorce.
I can honestly say I still go back to the things listed in the post. Music, writing, squats, my “no-nonsense” quote. All of it.
My boys and I were cuddling on the couch this past Friday watching the first episode of the new season of Deadliest Catch munching on popcorn.
I went back to my Evernote file that held the haikus I wrote during my divorce. I thought I’d pick one to share today. When I read them, I realized they were too raw and too personal to make public.
Maybe someday.
Instead I’m going to send you over to HuffPost to read the article (to gain some context to this post) and ask you to share it with anyone you know who is going through divorce. It’s not easy. In any way. No matter what anyone tells you.

As for a haiku, I’ll leave you with the following. I found this gem on Facebook.
Bonus points if you can leave a comment in the form of a haiku (5 – 7 – 5 syllables).
