18 Years

jennifer · October 8, 2012 ·

We lived across the hall from each other during our freshman year at Syracuse.
You helped me set up my Mac Performa 637.
I still can’t convince you to switch to Apple.
Our wedding anniversary has always been secondary to today.
We went on our first date 18 years ago to the O & O (Olive & Orange, a restaurant). I think it’s a bank now.
We walked around the quad and sat on a bench and talked. And talked.
You proposed to me on the same bench 5 years later. We were married in the chapel, walking distance from the bench, 2 years later.
We’ve now spent half our lives together.
We’ve moved across the country and back. Countless adventures. 2 amazing kids. 3 dogs.
You’ve seen it all from me – the good, the bad and the ugly. And, yet, you’re still my biggest supporter.
You get me. And that’s all I’ve ever wanted or needed.
I love you, Babe. Happy 18 years.
